When we lived in Richmond, I had gone to the Metro Zoo a few times and remember thinking it was so small. We went while visiting this time, and seeing it through the eyes of a child made the experience SO MUCH BETTER. E (and us) LOVED it. They are small, but they are so hands on and we were there for a little over 2 hours and still didn't get to do everything there was to do. You can feed the giraffes, play with the birds, ride a train, and so so so much more. Here are a few of my favorite pics from our adventure...

One of the NEATEST parts of the whole zoo was the *Budgie Encounter*
Budgie being a Budgerigar Bird also know as a common pet parakeet. You get to go into their exhibit with a little bird feed stick and they eat literally right out of your hand. E LOVED this and so did PopPa :)

What's a Zoo trip without a train ride to see all of the exotic animals? Too bad I didn't get any pics of the animals, but I did get pics of these cuties...
