school bus

Nana gave E an old fisher price school bus that was mine as a child, and it has definitely been one of his most favorite and well played with toys. Sawyer has also showed an interest in it...

brothers

Its no secret that I LOVE taking pictures, especially of my two cute boys. But if you are a mom, you should know how hard it is to get that *perfect* picture, especially when your two models are 2 and under. I do get lots of cute pictures like these sweet ones...

But you don't get those cute and sweet ones that are far and in between these ones...and let me tell you, there are definitely A LOT more of these...

Mama Said...

Ever heard that oldies song by The Shirelles called, Mama Said? The chorus goes a little something like this...

Mama said there'd be days like this,
"There'll be days like this," my mama said.
(Mama said, mama said.)
Mama said there'll be days like this,
"There'll be days like this," my mama said.

That is what I sing to myself when I have days like these...

yep. he dumped out all of the laundry that I had already folded and just needed to put away.

there are some days this is all he does in the evenings and there is nothing that makes him happy

homework

Well this puts a whole new twist on the phrase
*My dog baby ate my homework.*

dentist {E}

E had his 3rd dentist appt with a new dentist, and although he was a little nervous, overall he did a great job. He (and the momma) loved the fact that they had an indoor play area complete with a rocket ship, big screen tv, and video games to keep him entertained while we waited. The dentist gave a report of no cavities but did mention that his teeth had started to form around the shape of his paci. (Good thing we threw those away almost 2 weeks ago!!) He also mentioned that E had A LOT of teeth and not enough room, so he would def have some crowding when his adult teeth came in later. I guess we should start saving for braces now. Eeeeep.

its starting to feel like fall....

Or not. I love that its the end of September and the weather is still in the upper 70's but without all of the summer humidity. We have been playing outside a lot in the late evenings while we still can and the boys love it.

Yummmmmm

Na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na, Hey Hey Hey Good-bye...

That was the little jingle playing in my head this week after our BIG BOY said good bye to his beloved Paci. I have dreaded this task for months and it went WAYYY better than I would have ever thought. I just decided that we were done and told him that if he threw them in the trash then at the end of the week we would buy him a big boy bike. And he did. And that was that. He did ask for them a few times but nothing too dramatic and he even found a lost one under his bed and told me that it was yucky and threw it the trash. (HIGH FIVE ELIAS!)

Shiny New Big Boy Bike

So proud of himself and his new bike

A little E-ism...we had tried scaling back on the usage of paci before quitting cold turkey...we told him that he could only have his paci when he was in his carseat and when he went to bed. This didn't quite work out so well...he would tell us he needed to go out to the car to get in his carseat so that he could have a "Paci break". I wonder if there is a patch for that?

National Museum Day

{9.24.11} was National Museum Day, which also meant free admission to museums all over the nation, including the Space and Rocket Museum near us. We had been wanting to take E since he loves all things space related, but we didn't want to pay the hefty price then went along with taking him. It was a lot of fun and had lots to do but Im glad we went when we could have free tickets because I do think he is still a little young to fully appreciate the whole museum and all that it has to offer.

just an ordinary saturday afternoon

While playing outside we were surprised with an unexpected treat. A hot air balloon flew, (floated??) right next to our house and E thought it was the greatest thing ever. After it was out of sight, he was a very sad boy and that we needed to get it. Sooooo we loaded up in the car for an afternoon drive through the country (literally) and followed the balloon til it landed in a big field. E thought it was an awesome little adventure and I loved watching the excitement on his face.

Cant go balloon chasing without your hockey helmet :)
