July 9, 2011 can go down in
history the baby books as E's Great Escape. It took him 2 years 6 months and 20 days to decide to climb out of his crib. We have been in no rush to get him out of his crib, even when there was a new baby on the way. Lot of people asked us if we would use E's crib for 2.0, but to us it seemed silly to force him out of his bed when he was comfortable in it. I was also worried it would take away our awesome sleeper. A few nights after his escape, Dada took the front off of his crib to make it a toddler bed. We had long ago decided that for E, it would be best to make him stay in his bed at night. (No getting up to play.) So we kissed him goodnight, told him to stay in his bed until the sun came up, shut the door, and waited for a long night of back and forth to start. Boy were we wrong! He did GREAT! He only got up ONCE, only took him a little over an hour to fall asleep, and he slept until his normal time. YAY!!! Nap time the next day was pretty much the same. So very proud of our big boy :) Now its on to planning his big boy room!
