Elias' 1st Halloween....

WARNING: Yet another HUGE PHOTO OVER LOAD of CUTENESS

Halloween was jammed packed for such a little boy, it lasted a whole week, and he loved every minute :) Elias started off the Halloween week with a cartoon watching breakfast picnic in the CUTEST Halloween skeleton jammies...

Then it was on to the Halloween Extravaganza with our Moms group that we are a part of. The ladies did a fab job of organizing the whole thing and we had so much fun.

Elias was quickly drawn to the ball pit, he has one just like it at home in his room.

We made Trick or Treat bags and I think they all turned out soo cute.
Cute Baby GreyAttack of the monkey!

Later in the week we continued on with more tradition making...carving our pumpkins!
Elias wasn't so sure what to think at first
but he eventually dove right inewwy gooey pumpkin guts :)B decided to do a much more difficult design on his pumpkin.
E decided that he would rather just eat the pumpkin :)Our finished pumpkins :) B's on the left (obviously) and mine and E's on the right.
On Halloween Eve, Elias and I baked Pumpkin sugar cookies as well as Chocolate Chip cookies and Sugar Scary Cats cookies for B and his team members at work...of course E had to taste test them :)Five Stars! On Halloween night we joined up with some of B's team members, (thats employees that work for him, but Red Robin calls them team members and he gets mad if I call them employees) Jonathan and Brandi and their daughter H, to go Trick or Treating. I was a little skeptical at first about taking Elias TorT because he is so young, but he LOVED it. We only went to about five or six houses, but that was definitely enough to wear him (and his parents) out.

E and H meet.
E was a little excited...
maybe a little TOO excited. :)
riding in stylewith his fav driver besides his Gap of course :)
First Trick or Treat. Elias LOVED this by the way. He is such a people person, so this was def something for him, because behind each door was a new face for him to ham it up to.
Freeze Pop time after a long night of TorTing.
YUMM

Little story behind the chosen costume...Elias' Nana it bought for him when they were visiting back in September. It was during the time while his Auntie Telly was in the hospital waiting for her new lungs. Being a doctor, a heart/lung doctor at that was perfect for him to show how much he loves his auntie :)
The name McCutie comes from one of his momma and aunties favorite shows, Greys Anatomy :)Hope everyone had an AWESOME HALLOWEEN!!!

Pumkin Patch Take Two (WARNING: Picture OVERLOAD)

Brendon and I decided to spend one of his days off going to another pumpkin patch in the area...well maybe not exactly in the area...it took about forty mins to get to it from where we live. It was actually called the Great Pumpkin Patch, original, huh? Ha. And it was a FAKE patch at that, the pumpkins were shipped in and dropped strategiously around the field. WHAT!?! At least there was no mud, right Alison? :)

Here is E on the hay ride.

Love them :)

You can see the fake patch with all the pumpkins. Ha.
I LOVE Elias' face in this one. He has become so animated and I love it.
Pumpkin Sherriff
haha.

and I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor :)
How YOU doing. Haha. (this made me laugh Alison.)

Such a Ham.

Elias was not a happy camper when we were leaving :(

Ps. I might add that this would actually be a really fun place to take Elias when he is older because they had a lot of fun things to do besides going to get your pumpkin. They had a petting zoo, inflatables, a train ride, pony rides, and much much more, but E was just a little to young this year.

10 months old

Wow. Doesn't it seem like I just did a 9 month post? Seriously can someone hit the pause button because our "baby" is not so much a baby anymore. He has hit the double digits, and I am in shock that I am the Momma of a 10 month old. This month has flown by, and you would be amazed at all the new things he is learning every day. He is a crawling maniac these days. He is all over the house getting into EVERYTHING.

Brendon finally put the child locks on the cabinet doors and Elias is none too pleased. He still tries to open then and gets a little perturbed when he realizes he can't especially after he has just watched us open it. Lets see what else is our BIG boy doing ...

*He has been standing unassisted for about 2 weeks now, but now he is getting where he is doing it pretty much every time he stands. He can stand by either letting go of what ever he pulls up on or he can stand up in the middle of the floor without anything and this just AMAZES me.

*He has that look in his eye like he wants to walk and this scares me! I am not ready for my baby to walk! He will be standing and see something that he wants to get to, and he will concentrate really hard on the object or destination and you can just see it on his face that he knows he can walk he just hasn't figured out how to do it on his own, so he will end up plopping down on his butt and crawling to it. He walks really well behind his push toys though, and I really wouldn't be surprised if he started taking steps in the next couple of weeks or so.

*He can squat, and I have no idea why, but I think this is one of the cutest things that babies do. He has been doing it for a while but he has now mastered it with really good balance.

*He can climb the stairs now and I found this out a VERY scary way. We were getting ready to go on a walk and I forgot something upstairs so I set him down and ran up stairs real quick, and I was gone LESS than a minute and when I came back he was half way up the stairs! OMG! I am surprised I didn't have a heart attack right there on the spot. I had to stay calm because I didn't want to freak him out, so I practically jumped down the staircase to get where he was so I could grab him up. He was sooo proud of himself and smiling ear to ear.

*He can say light and point to a light.

*If you ask him where Dada is he will point at Brendon, or if Brendon is gone he crawls over to the stairway to look down at the door to see if Dada is home. He can say Momma but I'm not convinced that he knows that that is me. He also just points for the heck of it. No manners what so ever! We can be in public and he doesn't discriminate, he points at everything and everyone! Haha.

*He can roll a ball back and forth to you. I have been trying to get him to say ball, but he is obsessed with saying light. I think he is so proud that he can say it that he just says it over and over again. Ha.

*He has been taking a two hour nap EVERY day and this makes for a very happy Momma, and for anyone that knows Elias, you know how big of a deal this is. He is still sleeping through the night, and this is also makes for a very Happy Momma!

The only thing that is really making him go waaaaaaaaaaa is food. Yes food. He use to eat anything and everything. Now he has become so picky and I have seriously hit a dead end on what to feed to him. The only things that he will eat without a fight are Yobaby yogurts (most of the time), pancakes, mashed potatoes, dry cereal, puffs, and crackers. He will eat bites of other things here and there but usually he has one maybe two bites of something then turns his head and spits. Very very frustrating and definitely something that we are working on. Previously he was only drinking 2 maybe 3 bottles a day because he was eating so much food, but now he is back to 4 to 5 bottles a day because I'm worried about him getting nutrition that he needs.

Elias has also become one of the most affectionate babies and I LOVE IT. He is happy and content to play as long as you are sitting in the floor with him. You don't have to necessarily be playing with him, he just likes your company I suppose. In the middle of one of his play sessions he will randomly stop come over to you and put his head down on you and just rest or pat you. Its soo adorable and incredibly sweet. I am not sure where he picked it up but I am definitely loving it and is most certainly one of the best reasons of loving to be his Momma. :)

The next two months are going to be sooo busy and are going to fly by, I can't believe that our sweet sweet "baby" is going to be ONE in less than two short months. Mark your calendars to party party :)

Happy double digits Elias! We love you so very much!

Light!

Elias and I were sitting in the floor playing, well actually Momma was trying to play but he was climbing all over me like I was a jungle gym. This has definitely become his new favorite game, haha. :) I started pointed up at the light, and saying "light" and Elias would just laugh and laugh. I have no idea why he thought this was sooo funny, but his giggle is sooo contagious. He would point up at the light and just laugh as if to mock me, and that would make me laugh, so we were in a full fledged giggle fest when in walked daddy wanting to know what all the laughing was about. I told him that I was trying to teach Elias how to say light, and with the mention of the word, he pointed up at the light, laughed, and said light! Brendon looked at me and asked me if I just heard that. So we kept saying it and pointing at the light, and Elias would do the same. Soooo cute to hear his little voice and we were so excited that he has broaden his vocabulary past Momma and Dada! Another super cute thing about this is that light was his gf Lily's first word besides Mama and Dada :) and she points to the light and says light too and its equally as cute.

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

If you are like me, then Halloween is just not Halloween until you watch, It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. An oldie (1966!) but a goodie. How could you not like this cute Peanuts special? Its holiday tradition to watch it. Funny how having a baby changes the regular holiday traditions that you once had. In college it was tradition to dress up and find the best parties to go to...those parties were soo important that for the life of me I cant remember the fraternity's name at VT that I went to EVERY year. Ha. Unfortunately I DO remember the body I had in college....I think I need to blow this picture up and put it on the wall to give me the motivation to get to the gym :)
Wow. Got a little off track there. Now new traditions are made with Elias, and I might add I like these new traditions WAY better than the old. :) A new halloween tradition that I hope to carry on for years to come is the Pumpkin Patch. Elias and I joined our WTE Dec '08 buddies Alison and Will for a fun pumpkin patch adventure, and wow what an adventure it was. I have to agree with Alison, I am not sure what I envisioned but it definitely wasn't being dropped off in a huge muddy field. We had a blast though, on the bumpy hayride to the patch, seeing all the farm animals, (which included getting to feed a baby calf) and also a funny sign pointing out we were a little over weight. BOOOO!!! Haha. :) We are a little disappointed we didn't get a picture of this said sign, but we got quite a few cute pics of the boys that made up for it :) Alison took the first one and I LOVE it.

The boys look soooo excited to be at the patch...as well as being sooo excited that their moms were cheezy and dressed them alike :)

hmmm...pondering?

cute horse swing made of tires

the great pumpkin!

who knew that there were different kinds of pumpkins? this one is a cinderella pumpkin.

Alison took this pic too, but with my camera. I dont get many pics with the monkey and I because I am always the one behind the camera so its nice to have one :) Thanks Alison!
ps. Momma needs a haircut! BAD!

and how could we forget the britney spears wanna be that we saw before leaving! she had her baby riding in the driver seat with her. Awesome! It at least gave us a good laugh. :)

two little toofies.

Elias has been teething FOR MONTHS, I swear. You could see them under the gum and feel them and the chewing and drooling was unreal. Well FINALLY about a week ago two of them cut through the gums, and I was also finally able to trick him into getting a picture. NO MORE GUMMY BABY :)
